Keeping it in the Family

A few years ago, Ivy attended a sourdough workshop with her mother and (then) newborn daughter, Evelyn, in a quest to get back to the basics when it came to the health of her family. While her journey into the world of sourdough bread making may have began with a simple recipe and a mother-daughter shared passion for culinary exploration, has since grown into so much more.

Since the first loaf of sourdough bread came out of the oven, the Spotted Acres Farm family has been addicted to everything sourdough. After sharing with neighbors, family, and friends, Ivy was encouraged to get licensure to go further. In May 2024, Ivy began selling sourdough breads, scones, and crackers in business parking lots and via front-porch pickups. The business really expanded once Spotted Acres Farm attended their first farmers market - the Northeast WA Farmer's Market - in Colville, WA. Throughout the summer of 2024, they made waves within the community, gaining press and business attention. 

In November of 2024, Spotted Acres Farm was granted a Food Processor license through the WSDA, allowing them to expand their reach even further into grocery stores, retail shops, restaurants, and beyond. Today you can find Spotted Acres Farm's specialty sourdough products in many places throughout the Eastern WA community, but their dedication to keeping things "in the family and for the family" remains the same. 

Ivy still makes every sourdough item you will find on shelves, all while staying home with her now toddler. Behind the scenes, Ivy's parents, husband, in-laws, and other friends/family members assist in making the business what it is today. From deliveries, labeling, child-care, late-night dough checks, and beyond, it is a true village behind the Spotted Acres Farm name.

ABOUT SPOTTED ACRES FARM GOODS

Spotted Acres Farm Goods provides specialty sourdough baked goods to the local community of Eastern WA. We are dedicated to using organic and locally-sourced ingredients in our products. Over the past few years, we have remained committed to the ancient process of sourdough baking and gradually honed our skills. Today, our kitchen is filled with the aroma of an array of various freshly baked sourdough goods, a testament to our dedication and perseverance. Our love for this traditional bread-making method continues to grow with each successful product we make and share within our community. Our mission is to only feed our community what we would feed our own family... real, healthy, and simple ingredients. We are also passionate about sharing the art of sourdough baking through our lessons and workshops, empowering individuals to create delicious and nutritious baked goods at home.
